Rama Salim: Ababu Namwamba means well for football.

Ardent Sofapaka fan Rama Ibrahim has weighed in on sports cabinate secretary nominee Ababu Namwamba’s promises on sports during Friday’s vetting. Once the new CS assumes office, Rama, a long-time diehard follower of the local league, hopes to see back a properly structured league.

“We sports lovers in the country, especially football fans, have experienced tough times in the recent past owing to FIFA’s suspension, and I hope the new CS and relevant stakeholders will be able to sort out the mess in good time.” He said

“The new sports CS was categorical in his responses and especially tackled the football state in the country. Our leagues have been at their lowest since the caretaker took over, and there is a need to get back to having a structured and FIFA recognized league. I am hopeful that once Mr. Namwamba fully assumes office, we will be put to rest.” He added

“Touching on bringing back Supersport, this will be a good move for our local league. Our league has been lacking proper TV coverage and I believe having Supersport back will improve our league standards, viewership, and draw fans back to the stadium. ” He concluded.
