Defender Stephen Okola has expressed confidence to a decent season despite a shaky start into the FKF Premier League 22/22 season . “We started not so well but am glad we kept our heads together and worked our way out of the situation. Going by the recent run of good results I am optimistic we shall have a good season and more importantly finish in a better place compared to last season.
The defender who has literally been involved in all matches since the season began says the team togetherness as the key ingredient for the impressive performance .
“Our season has been splendid compared to last season largely due to team cohesion and togetherness. We maintained our first team from last season and added quality players into the squad. I believe it is because of having a better understanding of each other that has been key to our good performance.”
Okola attributes to compactness at the back that has seen the team conceded partly nine goals.
“It has been a good improvement for us at the back this season because of being compact and doing the necessary at the back. Personally I am pleased at the defense line going into the second phase of the league having conceded nine goals as compared to last season where we soaked in a lot of goals. I hope we keep the momentum and get more clean sheets too.”
The center back concludes by saying the team is well prepared ahead of Friday meeting with Thika based side Bidco United.
“We are a facing a good opponent who are in high spirits after their win over Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) last weekend. Nonetheless we are well prepared and we want to get back to winning ways after our last setback against Bandari. A win for us is very important and that is what we are focused to on Friday.”
