ODHIAMBO IS OPTIMISTIC OF A TURNAROUND AGAINST WAZITO

Wazito football club will play host to Sofapaka on Saturday 12th February 2022 in round 18 of the FKF Premier League fixture.

Addressing the club’s media ahead of the Saturday afternoon encounter, coach Ken Odhiambo talked about lack of goals upfront, team news, injury update and the need to win Saturday’s duel.

Having had a solid defense, the manager has lamented the lack of goals upfront;

Generally, we have been doing well as a unit and there has been massive improvement at the back. However, a shortage of goals has been our major undoing that has made us drop points in winnable fixtures. I hope we will avert the shortage and score goals to win our matches.

Having gone winless in the last five outings, Odhiambo targets to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

We have had a decent run against Wazito in our previous meetings and Saturday’s encounter offers another opportunity to keep the record high. Despite their recent predicaments, we equally have to turn around our performance, having gone winless in our last five fixtures. We are going into the match with the sole aim of getting back to winning ways, which I believe we will do by making our chances count.

Odhiambo is optimistic the team will do well despite missing the services of Wilberforce Lugogo and Sammy Kiplangat.

The squad is in good shape despite the recent knocks and injuries. We are pleased to have all the players who had minor knocks after the police match are fully fit for the Wazito match. However, we will miss the services of Wilberforce Lugogo and Sammy Kiplangat, who are out but doing well with rehabilitation, having sustained knee and ankle injuries respectively.
