Simon Masaka is delighted with his first clean sheet and is hopeful for more despite limited playing time.
On the first clean sheet
I’m overjoyed to have my first top-flight clean sheet. I have been longing to achieve this at the very top and I am glad it came over the weekend. It is a huge plus for me and it shows I am heading the right way in my career.
On playing time:
This is my second season in the Premier League, and as a young player, I’ve always known it would take time for me to break into the ranks and get more playing time.
I’m glad I’ve been learning a lot from my fellow custodians, who are extremely knowledgeable. I hope this is the beginning of many more minutes on the pitch in upcoming fixtures.
On the Bandari fixture:
We have two crucial matches to fight for, beginning with an away encounter against Bandari. They have been doing well, which will make the match a tough one, but we have prepared well and we are definitely going for a win because this is like a final for us.
On coach David Ouma:
He has been so encouraging, and when he gave me the opportunity to start between the sticks, I felt so motivated. I knew this was an opportunity to make a statement and I am glad that it came to pass. I am so thankful for the trust placed in me by the manager, and given another opportunity, I am fired up to give my best in the remaining matches.
