A win is what we are going for

After losing by a solitary goal against Tusker FC last weekend at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, Sofapaka FC will be looking for redemption when they play KCB FC away at Kasarani Stadium tomorrow.

Batoto ba Mungu need this win in order to get themselves from the bottom of the 18- team log with only four points from 8 matches.

Beating KCB will however not be an easy task as Sofapaka come into this match as underdogs since they have only managed to beat the bankers once in their previous five outings while settling for two draws and two defeats.

Sofapaka’s technical bench led by newly elected coach, Ezekiel Akwana and his assistant Francis Xavier will be under pressure to deliver a win if they are to help the team get out of the tail end of the table standings.

After the defeat Machakos Akwana urged his players to keep their heads up and focus on the next task at hand.

“For me what works best is to concentrate on one job at a time, meaning we should focus on the task ahead (KCB). We have already played against Tusker and we lost, now we should forge forward and start concentrating on our upcoming match,” Quipped Akwana at Kenyatta Stadium after the match against former champions.

Under new coach Bernard Mwalala KCB come into this match red hot expecting to extend their winning run after white-washing Nairobi City Stars FC 4-1 in a one sided affair last weekend.

The bankers currently lie at 3rd position after accumulating 15 points in their eight games, just 4 points shy of league leaders Posta Rangers and 1 a point below defending champions Gor Mahia who sit comfortably at second position on the table standings.

This do or die match has got all the ingredients of a thriller and fans should plan to see the fireworks explode.
